We have set up a Community Forum Group to drive the development of a Neighbourhood Plan with the principal aim to enable the local community to have a say in the development of their local area.
The ability to create Neighbourhood Plans was created by the Localism Act 2011. They are used to decide the future of the places where people live and work, giving opportunities to:
- choose where people want new homes, shops and offices to be built;
- have a say on what new buildings should look like; and
- grant planning permission for the new buildings you want to see go ahead.
In addition, we wish to define the future vision of the parish: such as what amenities we should have, how can we improve the local environment for the benefit of residents, how and what should the council spend the Precept/Council Tax money on? So, this is an opportunity for you to have your say and participate to define the future!
We are also developing an Emergency Plan for the Parish to ensure we are prepared, together with other local organisations, for some disastrous event that could affect residents – especially the more elderly and vulnerable within our community. It could happen!
If you are interested in helping in any way, have the skills or know-how that you think might help us with these tasks, please complete the form below or email David Adams.
